Dijon, a LuminoKrom® photoluminescent pedestrian pathway
Luminescent markings in the city of Dijon to make travelling safer at night
LuminoKrom® photoluminescent paint is being deployed to improve safety for cyclists and pedestrians at night. The city of Dijon has chosen this method of marking out its roads, which is much more environmentally friendly than installing public lighting. The Proximark teams of the Helios Group installed LuminoKrom® paint on a 1,000-metre long continuous strip of the canal bank, complete with 40 bicycle logos and 40 directional arrows, to mark the cycle path along the canal (rue de l’écluse).
The LuminoKrom® marking exploits the renewable energy of the sun. The paint captures light during the day and lights up at night without any electricity consumption or CO2 emissions. It is quick and easy to install on infrastructure. As soon as night falls, the marking becomes a luminous guide to orient users in the night.
