During the day, LuminoKrom® Pistachio Green diffuses a feeling of natural freshness and contemporary softness. This bright light green creates a lively and balanced atmosphere, ideal for living spaces, bedrooms, creative offices, or reception areas with a refined aesthetic. TIPS FOR EFFECTIVE WATER-BASED PAINT APPLICATION

LuminoKrom® Pistachio Green aqueous photoluminescent paint is easy to apply, following the same principles as traditional interior wall paint. By following a few simple recommendations, you will achieve a uniform, luminous finish and optimal photoluminescent performance.

Before painting, make sure the surface is clean, dry, and in good condition. It is essential to remove dust, grease, or residual moisture. For new walls, such as drywall or recently plastered walls, it is recommended to wait about a month to ensure that the surface is completely stable.

In order to maximize the photoluminescent effect, applying a white undercoat is recommended when the wall is not already light in color. This base promotes light recharge and improves the intensity and duration of luminescence in the dark.

LuminoKrom® Pistachio paint is then applied in two even coats, using a roller or brush, just like a conventional decorative paint.

Steps for applying pistachio green water-based paint for design

Clean the surface: Clean the wall thoroughly with clean water or a suitable cleaner, then leave to dry completely.
Mark out the area to be painted: Use masking tape or stencils to protect adjacent areas and achieve clean edges.
Apply the white undercoat (optional if the wall is already white): Apply an even coat of white paint to the entire surface to be painted. This step is essential to ensure optimal luminous effect.
Allow the undercoat to dry: Follow the drying time recommended by the undercoat manufacturer (usually about 2 hours).
Prepare your photoluminescent paint: Open the LuminoKrom® can and mix the paint thoroughly to obtain a smooth texture.
Apply the first coat of LuminoKrom®: Apply a first coat of photoluminescent paint evenly with a roller (short pile) or a 6-8 mm brush.
Leave to dry: Leave to dry for approximately 2 hours before applying the second coat.
Apply the second coat: Apply the second coat of paint to enhance the color and luminous performance.
Final drying time: Leave the painted surface to dry for 24 hours before use. During this time, avoid rubbing, walking on, or any contact with the painted area.

Is the white underlay mandatory?

However, if the wall is already light-colored, uniform, and in perfect condition, adding an additional undercoat is not essential.

How much paint should I buy?

When applied as recommended (2 coats), consumption is approximately 900 g/m². This corresponds to an indicative coverage of:
≈ 5 m² for a 5 kg container
≈ 15 m² for a 15 kg container
These values may vary slightly depending on the nature of the substrate and the application conditions.

How do I activate the luminescence after application?

Photoluminescent paint naturally recharges when exposed to ambient light, whether from the sun or indoor lighting. Once the room is plunged into darkness, it gradually releases the accumulated energy in the form of a soft, visible green light, creating a subtle and evolving atmosphere.

Does photoluminescent paint work with LED lighting?
